I've seen reviews stating that this was the inspiration for "The Host" but I don't buy it. The only similarities are a giant mutant and the "I Hate USA" sentiment. |

LOl!!!!!!!!!!! .. have an interesting trivia in the "making of" on the dvd. they wanted to make it a horror movie but it was during the time of the 'Otaku Murders' so no one in the mood ... they then changed the killer to a mecha and it thus became, a Sci Fi ! |

| Well I found a site called beta.vreel.net that has an interesting (probably American) movie: The Mutant Chronicles. It is an uneasy mix of Zombies with Lord of The Rings and b-films. But watchable and quality is good.Look for the title, the one with less viewers is the one, the other failed me.If you wnt to give a try, it is free. Vreel is a would be Veoh or Stage6 in the beginning. |

Oh, oh! I've seen Mutant Chronicles! It's GOOD! Other really good horrors are Dark Floors and Eden Log. Those are the 3 best non-US, non-Asian I've seen this year!

Hmmm...I'm not sure whether that was a good choice. I also wondered if they ran out of film so couldn't do a proper beginning--hence the "slide show" (It wouldn't be the first time that a production has done this). However, I did enjoy the sound-effects of the robot...especially the rubber-on-rubber sound when it moved. Classic!
I read about the Otaku Murders after your post. Such a tragedy! I can't blame people for getting upset. However, I suspect that those children may have lived if he had been treated properly at school and received some very-needed psychological attention. Some people are just crazy and you can't do anything with them. However, some people are turned into monsters by society. Very sad all around. |

Sorry to hear they're breaking your heart this week! Maybe you just need to take a day off and come back somewhat refreshed? It may not make a difference, but everyone benefits from a day off now and then.
