...broke box office record with a whopping....
155 million dollars first week opening!!! Let me explain the type of feat this was. The second closest movie opening for this summer was Wall-E, which took in 65 million dollars it's first week. In other words, Dark Knight made almost 100 million dollars more than the runner up!
I haven't seen it yet, so i'm anxious to hear some feed from our BA Fam! Holla!!!

| YESS!! I watched it here first then went to watch it at the imax. I always thought ledger was getting praise due to his death and all, but, wow, his performance was awesome! Totally took the film away from bale. This movie was less comic and more a dark drama. Very good movie, recommended! |

Wow. I can't believe there are cam copies already! I totally think you should watch in the theatre though.
I have to say that it one of the best graphic novel/comic-turned-movies I've seen ever! It totally knocks the first Batmans (I'm a lover of old school!) and even Batman Begins. It's up there with 300 and Superman (with Christopher Reeves not Brandon Routh!)
The Jack Nicholson performance was very good in my book but Heath Ledger was phenomenal. You watch him with your jaws unhinged all the way. You don't know if you should be amused or scared throughout.
He was ridiculously superb! |

I sooo cannot wait to see this movie! Unfortunately, it won't come out here until late August and the German dubbing sounds pretty dreadful. Especially the Joker's voice doesn't seem to suit the character at all and has nothing on Heath Ledger's spot-on vocal performance.
When I first heard that he was supposed to play the part of the Joker, I thought that it would turn out to be a big miscast – he was just too young and too handsome in my opinion. But once I saw the trailer, I knew that they couldn't have found a better actor for the role. It really is a tragedy that Ledger passed away and can't enjoy all the praise he's receiving now. |

I would never watch a cam copy of it, in no way would a cam copy due the film justice. |

I watched it last night, and while it was a very good movie, it didn't totally live up to the hype for me. It was at least 30 minutes TOO long, and I was getting a bit impatient with it in the end. Of course Oldman, Freeman, Caine, and especially Ledger were all very good, but Bale was a little disappointing this time around. I think it's because I like him more as Bruce Wayne than Batman actually... acting-wise that is.
Still a must see, regardless of the fact that it starts to drag at the end. Return of the King was even worse at this, but was also still a great film!

Heath was an awesome joker..Bale as batman was imo aweful..his 'batman voice' was soooo over the top, it annoyed me trough the entire movie.
The story-line was..well it's a batman movie..so yeah it was batman-ish lol.
I enjoyed it (Minus the 'can someone hand me a strepsil?' voice).
Heath made the movie.
