Plot Summary :
The new horror movie, Chermin (Mirror), directed by newcomer Zarina Abdullah, opens today in Malaysian cinemas nationwide. It stars Deanna Yusoff, Natasha Hudson, Khatijah Tan and Farid Kamil.
It tells the story of Nasrin (Hudson) who gets into a car accident that leaves her face scarred. She becomes withdrawn, and while recovering, receives a mirror that is a family heirloom. Although Kmouch disagrees, I felt it was worth a watch. I'm really beginning to enjoy these village flicks. They've got a home-town kind of charm.
The veoh link is dead so I put it up on Crunchy:

| it does has it's charm. I think the setting was the only reason i liked that thai movie Nang Nak. I thought the plot was horrible, but the 'little village' setting was awesome. |

Thai movies are interesting. They've got their "village" flicks and their "city" flicks and they're like night and day in production value. Personally, my favorite village films are the Thai horror/comedies. The posters for the movies always suck and so do the titles, but the films are a riot!
This little Malay film isn't so bad. The plot is a bit contrived and the effects are gawd-awful, but it's got an interesting soap-opera feel to it. I |
